What's new on High Street
A few years ago, there were questions about the future of High Street.
We lost the Tea Room.
We lost Juniper.
We lost Cloud Central.
Like many downtowns, we faced change. But something interesting happened.
Entrepreneurs stepped up.
On one end of High Street, our friends from Riverside Convenience have been absolutely killing it with their Convenience store, Airbnb, grab-and-go meals, takeout offerings, and more things to come.
Moving along, Carrie and her team at Everybody Fitness continue to bring more and more people downtown every day along with promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Their neighbours, the Classic Theatre remains one of the anchors of High Street, creating memories for generations and giving people another reason to visit our downtown. They just launched their new website.
Across the street, James and Ian at Bubblepixies Soap have built something special and continue to expand their product lineup, while our friends at Atlantic Cannabis, everyone’s best bud, they bring more and more people downtown.
This year we’ve welcomed Hewitt Optical to High Street, and we’re all super excited about the opening of The Mill Coffee Company, adding another great reason to spend time downtown.
We’ve seen our own evolution too.
Over the past 2 years, the old Town Square Mall became the High Street Hive, a business hub now home to lawyers, accountants, artists, radio personalities, healthcare professionals, educators, and entrepreneurs.
Pardy Central found its home upstairs at 9 High Street and we want to take a minute and thank everyone who has celebrated birthdays, team events, fundraisers, school outings, and socials with us. We have more ideas to share…
With more people coming downtown, we’ve also had the opportunity to launch our Local Ad Network, helping local businesses promote themselves on digital screens throughout the area.
And we’re not done yet.
Today, Wendy and Daniel announced their exciting new venture, the Art Emporium located at 52 High Street.
Finally, hidden beneath High Street, the work continues at 7 Under Par, a luxury speakeasy-style golf experience that will be opening later this summer.
High Street isn’t standing still. It’s evolving.
And that’s what happens when people keep investing, creating, building, and believing in a downtown.
The best part?
We’re just getting started.
